Long week...

Hey buddy...
We have had a really rough week, haven't we?  Your small cooties turned into big ones and the whole house is sick.  On Monday, Mary had us come pick you up at 3.  On Tuesday & Wednesday, you stayed home.  Daddy watched you Tuesday & I watched you Wednesday.  You did go to daycare on Thursday but at night, you were sick and just wanted to cuddle with me.  On Friday, you made it an hour at daycare and I went to get you.  Daddy came home 1/2 day to hang out with you.

I hate it when you are sick, buddy.  This has probably been the worst one yet.  Part of it is because all of us were sick and miserable but this is the most miserable you have been.  I hate hearing you cough and seeing your eyes all droopy.  I hate you crying because you are miserable.  I told your daddy that I would take it away from you if I could but since I have Joey cooking in there, it is all on him to take the illness for the family  :)

The other thing going on is that I am having a really hard time with managing you and growing Joey.  You are getting so big and lifting you is starting to cause me problems with the pregnancy.  I thought that it was because I overdid it on Tuesday all day with you but it has continued all week.  I get pains even after picking you up one time.  It is so hard on us both, isn't it?  It is hard on you because you are a mama's boy and you want your mama to pick you up.  It is hard on me because I want to pick you up and love you up but I have to be careful to keep your brother safe for lots more weeks.  Daddy is already picking up the slack but it is going to be an adjustment for us.

Because I am having problems, we are making arrangements to get help for you from that 4-5:30 time.  Grampa Keith is going to start getting you on Tuesdays & Thursdays.  You will still hang out with Great Gramma on Fridays.  Gramma Debbie is going to try to get you as many Mondays & Wednesdays as possible.  Finally, we have hired Uncle Zachary as a nanny for you.  He will help load you in the car and play with you until daddy gets home.  Outside of that 4-5:30 window, you and daddy are going to have to learn to be best friends for quite a few weeks.  We need your brother to stay in there cooking for at least 14 more weeks.

Even sick, you are walking up a storm.  It is starting to be the majority of your transportation.  You even ran down the hall today & daddy said it was the funniest thing ever.  You can tell it is still new to you because you are still proud of yourself.

We are working on your body parts and I thought for sure that you had figured out noses today.  I said "Where is daddy's nose?" and you pointed right to it.  But, I think it was an accident  :)  You are saying "NO" more often and now, you are even shaking your head "No."  Gotta love it when my 14 month old is already saying "NO."

Finally, we have started trying to decide what we are going to do for beds.  You were feeling better tonight so we went to look at them.  The regular twin beds just seemed so darn big for you!  We finally found the toddler beds and I think we are going to go that route.  They had a little princess bed and you crawled right into it and thought it was pretty cool.  While we won't get you the princess bed, the size of it seemed perfect.  Our only fear is that you are going to crawl right out of it when you are fussy.  We are going to get it in a month or so and give you a chance to get used to it.  Eventually, I want to get you & Joey a nice set of bunk beds but it is going to be quite a few years.

Well, I think that is about it.  I really hope that you start to feeling better my love!
