July 27 and July 28

Happy Birthday baby! You are a whopping 7 months old today. You know what I want to know? I want to know when I am going to look at you and not be amazed that you are here. I hope that it is never stops because it makes life with you so much fun. As a family, we are settling into a routine that I really like. You get home while I finish working. On good days, you take a nap. You wake up and around 5:30 we eat dinner together. Let me emphasize that we eat dinner at the kitchen table together. This is new for me and your dad - we are used to eating on our recliners in front of the TV. Then, you play or we run errands and it is time for you to go to bed. It is a nice routine and it keeps us home more often and not eating out so much.

So, yesterday you were over Grampa's after Mary's. When dad brought you home, he said that you were able to hang out with Uncle Tyler & Uncle Zachary too! We had dinner and then I had an appointment at the personal trainer. You & daddy went with me so daddy could talk to the trainer. You sat and watched while I was tortured. I was near death and you just sat smiling at me. :)

Today, after dinner, we went to CocoKeys to try out your new life jacket. It was so fun! You floated on your life jacket, were kicking and splashing! We also went in the kiddie area where you splashed and jumped up and down. You do so good in the water! You get water in your face and even sometimes up your nose and you still don't get fussy. I am so proud of you!

July 24 - July 26

Hi monster!
I can't seriously call you a monster because it really isn't your fault that you are a fussy pants! I think you are having some pain in your mouth so you are just not yourself. But, what the heck do your mom and dad know? We thought you have been teething since you were like 3 weeks old :)

Wanna know something cool? You are starting to eat with us. We are trying to get into the habit of eating at the table at the same time we are feeding you. As we eat things you can eat, we are sharing. It was so cool to "share a meal" with you! One night, we had pureed peaches together. I put them on my chicken breast, you ate them as your dessert. One night, you had corn and potatoes from farmers market. We have shared oatmeal together. Tonight, we shared cream of chicken with mashed potatoes. You really do like to eat more than you like to drink!

Wanna know something not cool? You sure do like whiskey :( You were fussy with your teeth so I dipped my finger in Jack Daniels and rubbed it on your gums. You made your normal scrunched up face and then you were liking it. We joked that you were a little drunk afterwards. We have done it 3 times since Wednesday and each time, it makes you scream less and you get punchy for a few minutes. Today, you were screaming at me and I pulled out the bottle and you immediately were happy. That is the sign of a problem buddy! Your dad says it is a sign that you are a Lang. But, I don't recall any big whiskey drinkers on my side of the family.

Everyday, I think it is the day that you are going to crawl. You scoot and when we hold you, your legs go nuts like you are crawling in the air. Your dad says it looks like you are doing a breast stroke. It will happen soon - even though mommy doesn't want it too.

Let's see - what did we do this weekend? Saturday - we learned how to make Great Gramma's enchiladas. You needed a nap so I left you on the floor to cry for a minute but Gramma didn't like that. She rocked you to sleep and held you during your nap. We made 28 enchiladas then we had some breakfast together. Grampa Keith came over and he hadn't seen you for awhile. He got a phone call while he was there and guess what picture is on his phone? BABY LIJAH :) After that, we totally just relaxed at home - we were LAZY!

On Sunday, your dad threw you in bed with me and we slept in until 10:30!! Then, I went to Farmer's Market with Grampa Keith while you hung out with daddy. Then, we spent the afternoon at Gramma Ruth's. Your Auntie Colleen & cousin Karen were in town from Missouri. You were so good while we were there even if you were so tired. You were flirting and posing for the camera. I was so proud of you because I knew how miserable you were. You woke up at 11:30 just screaming. At first, I thought it was because your leg was caught in your crib. But, you didn't stop screaming and it was pain more than tired. So, we got out the Jack and you were fine until you started screaming because you were tired. You slept with us and you did so good once you fell asleep - you were right in the middle rather than sucked up to either one of us.

On Monday, Mary said you were whiney most of the day. Grampa Keith picked you up because I had a call at 4:30 with the lady that signs my paycheck :) We had dinner together, did a bath and now we are just hanging out watching TV. Pretty soon, you will be asleep and we will get ready to start another day.

We have another busy weekend - we are going tubing and then we have your cousin Tyler's birthday party on Sunday. Hopefully, we can get to Coco Keys one night because we sure didn't get any pool time this weekend because we were so lazy!

I haven't been taking a ton of photos of you but I do have some from yesterday that I will add later. I also have been doing a ton of scrapbook pages for your book and my book.

That is about it baby! Before you go telling your therapist that your mom and dad turned you into a Jack Daniels loving drunk, I should probably just state that you get about 1 drop of whiskey each time :) If you end up loving the hooch, we aren't taking the blame for it yet. I am sure you will blame us for other reasons but it won't be because you got some rubbed on your gums while you were teething :)

July 21 - 23

Hi Lijah!
Well, we haven't been doing too much this week but hanging out with you!

On Wednesday, Gramma Debbie wanted more time with you so she took you for the whole day! She reported that you were a ton of fun. She texted me that you remind her so much of me. I sure don't hear that very often, baby boy. She said that you are laid back & funny like me and you have a big huge smile like me. I sure do love that smile! I do hate it when you hide that smile so we can't see your tooth. You clamp down and pucker your lips - you are so stubborn like your mommy too.

On Thursday, you were back at Mary's flirting with all the kiddos. We seem to be having some stress when you get home from Mary's - you are so tired but you just scream at me because you don't want to take a nap! Then, daddy comes home and you are all smiles making me look like I am lying when I say you are fussy :)

Today, it was time to see Great Gramma. I was holding you in the kitchen and she came around the corner. Your whole face lit up, you gave her a big gasp and your big smile! But, you wouldn't show her your tooth or do your new mouth noises. Maybe you did later when I wasn't there When you got home, we got you all fed and waited for Baby Jake to come over and hang out with us. He got here around 7 and you crashed at 8 so you guys didn't play together. But, you were a jealous fool and it was kind of funny!! I held him and this little demon Elijah came out. I told your dad that it makes me wonder about bringing me another baby in the house! On one hand, another baby would be good because you wouldn't be able to be so spoiled. On the other hand, it would be difficult to put up with demon Elijah! I do have to say that I missed some of those little baby noises that Jake was making and how he cuddles on my tummy. You are getting so big so quick it was amazing how those times flew by so quickly.

Tomorrow, we are hanging out with Great Gramma to make enchiladas. Sunday, daddy's cousin and aunt from Missouri are coming in and want to meet you! I am hoping that we can get you in a pool sometime this hot, sticky weekend.

July 19 - July 20

Hi Baby!
Big news! I picked you up from Mary's on Monday and she said you were a crabby pants. She said "Have you looked in his mouth?" I groaned because I was all bummed thinking it was more thrush. But, nope - you were popping a tooth! There is a little nub of a tooth coming in on the bottom and Mary thinks the one next to it is right on it's heels. While we have thought this was going to be happening for awhile, it was still kind of shocking! You really are getting to be a big boy. Pretty soon, my cute baby smiles and silly baby faces are going to include TEETH. Just another sign of how my baby is going to be a toddler soon.

You have been a fussy pants for me for two days but the worst seems to be between 4 and 6. I think you are tired, your mouth hurts and you may be semi-hungry. After 6, you seem to cheer up and aren't screaming so much. Yesterday, after your mini-nap and bottle, you were in such good spirits - maybe even bordering on being drunk from your milk. You and I just laid on the bed and looked at each other and giggled for about 1/2 hour. It was one of those moments that you hope to hold on to for the rest of your life but I realize how easily they slip through my mind.

Monday was all about your tooth and getting you to show it to us. You are so stubborn and will clamp your mouth down in an instant if you think we want to see it. Then, we had to show daddy your new circus trick - you like to make noises with your mouth and have someone tap your mouth. I don't know how to describe it except that it reminds me of Indian noises during their chants. That makes you so happy to make those noises and see us laugh. But, it has to be on YOUR TERMS. If we try to make you do it when you are not in the mood to be a circus clown, you clamp down your mouth pronto.

Tuesday was all about you being a fussy pants for a bit, us giggling together and then you hung out with daddy while I went to book club. You guys went to the golf range to see our friends Cindy & Jay. Your dad told me that you were pretty hesitant at first but then you warmed up to them. You were crashed on the love sac with your bottle when I got home. The love sac is the perfect place for you to go to eat your bottle. You get all nestled in the groove and are all content to sit there and hold your bottle and eat. Watching you with your bottle is something that I need to get on tape - another little moment I would like to capture. You grip it at the end and you move your fingers back and forth to grab the plastic. Like opening and closing your hand just to hear the plastic make noise.

This morning, as usual, daddy dumped you in bed with me while he took a shower. You gave me a big smile from the middle of the bed and, again, lightning fast, you were by my side. You were not close enough so your legs started going crazy to push you up higher. You sure know how to work your body to get where you want to - but only when you want to :) You started fussing at me and I squeezed you and told you to quit fussing because you couldn't get ANY closer to me. You smiled, squirmed some more until you had it just right, fussed again and fell asleep. It is during those quiet little naps in the morning (they are only about 15-30 minutes depending on when you fall asleep) that I really hate sending you to daycare. I wish I could just let you sleep as long as you wanted. I wish we could just hang out in bed giggling at each other and taking naps all day. But, it doesn't work that way and you have to go. Daddy throws you over his shoulder and walks down the hall while I say good bye and you grin and gasp and make funny faces at me. I always watch you really close when you leave because it is those silly grins, gasps and faces that make the day go by quicker until I pick you up and you scream at me. :)

July 15 - July 18

Hi Lijah!
I don't have a ton of new things to share with you these past few days. You are so cute and fun and a joy to hang out with. You are starting to go to bed a bit earlier now - about 8 you get tired and want to go to bed. But, it means you are getting up a bit earlier too - closer to 7. We are now able to hand you a bottle and if you are reclined, you can hold it yourself and feed yourself. You are doing a great job with food too - not as messy as the last few weeks. I know you are going to be crawling any second - on Friday, I was watching you and you were scooting all over to get to Baby Jakey. Pretty soon, you will be so mobile I will be running to catch you!

Thursday - Another early night but heck if I can remember anything besides an 8:00 bedtime :) Better start writing on your blog more often!

Friday - It was time to see Great Gramma Lang! She fed you and you played over there. Then, Baby Jakey came over to visit and you were just aching to reach out and grab him. After Gramma's we went over Morgan's to have cake and ice cream for her birthday. We sang to her and you got all blue just eating the frosting :) Then, you were out for the night.

Saturday - we were going to go to cousin Brandi's to go swimming but it was so darn hot and you were sleeping while baby Jakey was there. You took a nice long nappy in the middle of the day for us! You went over Auntie Sheila's while your daddy and I went to dinner for our anniversary. Yep, this weekend, we have been married 12 years! I joke that I finally trapped your daddy into marriage 12 years after we took our vows :) You played with your Auntie and Uncle for about an hour then you crashed at 8.

Sunday - your dad dropped you in bed with me when he left for a bit. You looked at me, smiled and rolled over super fast right next to me. You squirmed around for a few seconds then you were out for 2 whole hours!! I sure wish I knew how you find a way to maneuver yourself to give me about 6" on the bed. Every time I move to get comfortable, you squeeze in closer and push me further to the edge! We went to farmers market and ran errands. Then, we went over Gramma Ruth's for a bit. When we got home, you took a nappy and took a bath in the tub for the first time. Up until now, you have been in the sink, on the counter, on the kitchen table and now, you are a big boy in the tub. We still have you in your ducky inflatable until you are able to sit better but it is nicer to have you in there while you are splashing all over! When I got my camera, you were hamming it up!

July 10 - July 14

Hi Pumpkin!
It has been a few days since I wrote you last and I don't think a ton has happened in that time. You are starting to really hold your bottle more and more now. You wrap your fingers around the bottom and hold it. I tried giving you Level 3 food to see if you were ready to go up to chunkier food. You did OK but I don't think you liked the chicken and noodles too much. It was your first taste of meat :)

I really do think you are trying to give kisses. You attack people with your mouth to suck on their face, arms, chin, ear, neck - whatever you can reach. But, Tuesday night, every time your dad would smooch you, you would get all excited and then grab his face and "kiss" him. We love all your kisses and we will like them even more when they are closed mouth kisses rather than drool-everywhere-kisses!

So, let's see what you have been up to the last few days -
Saturday - mommy and daddy went tubing all day with the Lucas' and Beatys. You hung out with Gramma Debi D and you worked her. She didn't tell me specifics but I can only imagine how you were flirting with her and smiling and cooing. All I heard was that you were good and you made her laugh all day.

Sunday - I went out for a few hours and you were hanging out with daddy. You were so tired and fussy for him. When I got home, we all took a nappy - even Daddy! Afterwards, we ran over to Gramma Debbie's to put your carseat in. She was holding you and you were just watching us. I think you are starting to be aware of us more and what we are doing. You were following us with your head like "Are you leaving me here?"

Monday - back to Mary's and Gramma Debbie asked to pick you up. You hung out with her and visited her friends. When you got home, we gave you a bottle and you crashed. You were only in your diaper and you just passed out on your boppy. You were so darn cute.

Tuesday - It was your turn for your weekly visit with Grampa Keith. You were awake the whole time! I think you are trying to change your afternoon nappy schedule but then you get so tired and owly around 6-6:30. I went out tonight and you did end up taking a nappy for your daddy. We will get your schedule figured out and get you back on track!

Wednesday - Your daddy decided to take a half day vacation because he had so many errands to run. But, he just ended up taking a nap! He has to go get his license plates. They say "Elisdad" on them!! I can't wait to get them. He had hot plans tonight so you & I went to Brandi's pool to go swimming. You did so good. You even got a couple mouthfuls of water accidentally and no fussy pants. The weather started getting bad and we ended up hanging out at the Lucas' for a bit before we came home.

You are so much fun buddy - in and out of the water! I can only imagine how it is going to be when you are talking non-stop and moving!

July 8 - July 9

Hi my little Michael Phelps :)
You are such a water baby and it is now official - I dunked you tonight. We went to Morgan's birthday party at Sun Valley and you were so good. No fussing, no crying, just hanging out with everyone. You floated in your tube for awhile and hung out while people held you. Once you were getting a little tired, I figured it was time to dunk you since you were going to be getting out of the water anyway. No screams, no cries, just kind of like "What the heck mommy?" I was so proud of you. I was proud of you all night - you were such a good baby!

Wanna know a secret? Debbie asked Morgan who she was looking forward to seeing at the party - she invited her friends and her family and lots of people came to celebrate her birthday. She said that she was most excited to see ... YOU! Morgan likes you so much.

Let's see...what else has happened the last couple of days? We just hung out yesterday - bouncy, play mat, food. Today, you hung out with Great Gramma and saw Uncle Jeff before we went to the party. Mary said you were serious today - not too smiley but you were smiley with Great Gramma and at the party. I told Mary you just don't like her this week and that is why you were serious and were pooing all the time at her house :)

Photo from tonight:

July 7

Well, your mommy sure did it this time buddy! I was yapping away at you while we were going to the truck and SLAM - my head went right into the brick that overhangs on the garage. It was so bad, it was instant crying, instant headache and instant relief that it wasn't you. I have given a lot of thought to what I would give up for you and my logical choice was pretty much everything. I could easily go all Steel Magnolia on you and give you a kidney - no second thought. But, until yesterday, those were always just random thoughts in my head. When I was in so much pain with my throbbing head, the only thing I could think of (outside the blinding pain) was thank goodness it wasn't your tender little noggin and I would gladly go through it so you didn't have to. Guess I am officially a mommy, huh?

You went back to daycare yesterday and we got another bad report card. Apparently, we broke a cardinal day care law by giving you apple juice. Even though we were doing exactly what the nurse told us, Mary didn't like the results of having so many dirty diapers. On your report card, I got a stern "Daycare #1 Rule: No Apple Juice." haha.

We went to the gym tonight and you went into their kids room. I can't decide if you liked it or not. In theory, you should have - there were kiddos, a bouncy chair like you have at home and lots of activities. But, you were crying when I came and got you. That broke my heart! I think you were tired so we will try it again before finding alternate arrangements (read: Begging your family to take you for an hour).

We did have a funny tonight when we got home from the gym. Your dad was upstairs and I was coming up the stairs holding you. He came around the corner, saw us and jumped back startled. You thought that was the funniest thing - you started laughing. We didn't know if it was because it was funny that we scared him or he is just funny looking :)

No photos buddy - the camera has not been in your face since Monday! But, I have some new scrapbook pages for you.

July 3 - July 6

Hi Baby! Lots of good things to tell ya and some not so good! We will get the not so good out of the way first. You have been having cooties for awhile now. You have had a runny nose and a bit of a cough but you were still in good spirits. Starting on Friday night, it started moving to your chest. By Saturday, you were making sounds we didn't even recognize. We felt so horrible for you but the nurses told us there was nothing that could be done. We kept you home this morning because we thought for sure Mary would send you home - you sounded that bad. But, you were feeling better today. I have never changed so many poo diapers in a row (5) but you are feeling better.

On Saturday, we woke up and headed to Minnesota. We hung out with your Minnesota GodParents, Great Gramma and Auntie Val. We had dinner, margaritas and you were given lots of lovin!

On Sunday, we woke up and had breakfast at Brian's. We took 4th of July photos and headed to the Mall of America. It was a rough for you because you didn't get all of your naps but you had a good time watching all of the people. After the Mall, we went to Brian's soccer game and you started showing your signs of fatigue at half time. We didn't make it to fireworks.

On Monday, we headed back to Brian's for a bit then we had to come home. We were on a tight schedule to go to the Naven's anniversary party. Your cough hadn't gotten any better and were fussier on the way home. Overnight, I woke up shivering and on the way home, I started feeling horrible. When we got closer to Omaha, we had to throw in the towel and cancel our appearance at the party. We went to bed at 9:00 together.

Today, we hung out while I worked. Thankfully, I felt better after that good night's sleep and you appeared to feel better too. Hopefully, our lives will get back on track this week. We have a busy weekend to look forward to!

Some photos for you:

You in your big boy car seat. We had to switch you from your infant car seat to a big boy seat. We couldn't get it in right so we had you front facing for a couple of days. It was nice to get to turn around and look at you but we had to put it rear facing for safety.

Your Oklahoma Blankman Family - Auntie Cindy, Uncle Daniel and Zachariah. You were enchanted with Zachariah. You just kept looking at him so intently until he would look at you and then you would smile!

Not a good photo but you gotta take what you can get with these guys - Grampa Larry's brothers Mark and Uncle Ugly.

Auntie Susie hanging out with you at Uncle Ugly's birthday party.

Family photo on 4th of July.

Your 4th of July photos - we bought a pinwheel but you were so entranced by it we couldn't get you to look up! Your Grampa Keith and Heather bought you your 4th of July duds :)

Daddy propped you up against the window. While it looks like you are close to standing on your own, it was really your diaper and your shoes that kept you in place for a few seconds before you toppled. Gramma Debbie bought you your 4th of July shoes - they are the first shoes we have had on you but they only lasted for pictures!

Baby God Daddy and your flirting poses!

Tourist photo with Mommy! I thought you would love Rainforest Cafe but you are still too little. You were all about your bottle and that was about it!!

You did like the aquariums though.

Rainforest Cafe with daddy being tortured by me making him take a photo.

You dressed up in Baby GodDaddy's soccer colors. Daddy put you on top of the car and was trying to figure out how you will look when you are a tall boy :)

Mommy trying to be artistic and get a unique family portrait - daddy with you & me in his glasses.

Last but not least, we have a short video of your daddy being silly. Mommy's voice is completely annoying and ear piercing but you are funny to watch :)

July 2

It was a crazy day and crazy night today baby! I was so tired I was barely functioning but we had places to go and people to see! I picked you up from daycare early today so that you could spend more time with Auntie Val then I came back to work. I figured it would be an easy day at work because it was the Friday before a holiday weekend. Nope, called that one wrong :) I was busy all day!

When I picked you up at Gramma's, you were HUNGRY. We fed ya, changed ya, let ya play a bit then it was off to Lansky's to have dinner with some of your family on Grampa Larry's side. You got to meet The Funsucker - oops, Auntie Cindy, Dan, and Zachariah. You were quite smitten with Zachariah - you just kept looking at him and smiling when he would pay attention to you. Great Gramma Dorothy, Susie and Fred also joined us. After that, we went up to visit Uncle Ugly on his 60th Birthday. I realized that is Great Uncle Ugly to you :) We got to see more of Grampa Larry's family - Mark Sr, Mark Jr, Gregory and, of course, the man of the hour - Skeet. You were dancing with Auntie Cindy and looking at all of the decorations. There were lots of balloons that said 60 on them even though your Uncle Ugly kept saying he was only 39 or some nonsense like that :) I think the Blankmans were happy to see you/meet you and hang out with you. Thank you for being such a good baby with all of your Blankman family tonight.

You know how when you were growing inside, I tried to "keep it real" when I was talking to you? Well, I have to keep it real tonight buddy. Mommy had a rough night tonight. For awhile, after Grampa Larry died, it was difficult for me to be with his family because all of his siblings look so much like him. But, it has been a few years and it doesn't bother me anymore. But, tonight, I was so overwhelmed at the party. It was the first time you had been with 4 out of the 5 of them all at one time. Auntie Sue and Uncle Ugly were at your baptism but there were so many Blankman's there tonight that it was hard on me. Seeing you be held by Auntie Cindy and seeing a party just pointed out to me who wasn't there and who was missing out. Honestly, I felt like Grampa Larry was with us - at two different times, it felt like I could *see* him walking across the room. Then, I could picture him walking around with you and showing you off. You know how Grampa Keith is so proud of you & he will hold you, walk around with you and act like a proud peacock? I could so easily see Grampa Larry doing the same thing that it was hard on me to remember that he isn't here anymore and he is missing out on you.

But, I also had a huge realization and maybe I had to go through the hardship to end up where I did. I was talking to your Aunt Becky when we visited her. I told her that I am sure I was supposed to be taught something by Larry dying so young but I hadn't figured out my lesson yet. I think that part of that lesson was revealed to me tonight. Until Grampa Larry got sick, I don't think I realized how lucky I was to be part of such a great "step" family. Once he was sick and then when he passed on, I have felt closer to them and I think it took him passing for me to realize that. I was always on the outside of things with them because I had a lot of family - we had Grampa Keith's family, the Faimans and then the Brighams. So, on holidays, I used to miss out on the Blankman side because we had so many places to be. They always welcomed me into their family but I was pulled in so many directions that I didn't really allow myself to fully embrace being a part of that family. But, when Grampa Larry got sick, I kind of jumped into the family head first and haven't looked back. It has also been a blessing because it is more people to love you up! I really doubt that your Grampa Larry got sick just to prove this point to me but it is always nice to try to find some silver lining or lesson in each hardship we go through.

So, baby, that is about it for today. I haven't been that deep on you for a long time. You are sleeping, I am off to sleep and we will head out to Minnesota in the morning. Even though we are going to have fun with your Baby God Daddy, we are missing out on a lot here in Omaha. We are missing Jeremy & Kylie Shark's party, a party at Auntie Becky's, and Baby Finnegan is in town but we won't get to see him. We will make sure to remind Baby God Daddy how lucky he is that he ranked so high on the social calendar :)

I will add pictures of you with all your Blankman family when we get back in town!

June 30 and July 1

Hi buddy!
I don't have any new pictures for you today - imagine that, your mom didn't snap your photo for 2 whole days :) Sometimes, it is nice to get away from the paparazzi, isn't it? You have had a ton of family time and I have a few fun things to share with you.

On Wednesday, you went to Mary's then off to Gramma Lang's while I had a call for the last hour of my workday. But, it wasn't just Gramma Lang - it was Auntie Val too. You know what that means? You were spoiled rotten while you were there. I came and joined you and mooched dinner off Gramma :)

On Thursday, we had dinner with your Auntie Val, Auntie Sheila, Gramma, Uncle Jeff and Grampa. You hammed it up for a bit and played drama king for them with your choking. Funny how you don't ever choke on your cereal puffs at home but when people are around, you don't know how to eat. After that, you went to hang out with your Brigham family too! Daddy had your Aunt Laura help get your car seat in right and so you got to see Aunt Laura, Uncle Mark, Gramma Ruth, Tyler and Zach. Dad said you were good but you got tired towards the end.

Mary told your daddy that you are starting to give "fives". She puts her hand out and you are slapping it. HOW FUN. Pretty soon, Kylie Shark can teach you the appropriate words and pitch to say "HIGH FIVE". Last night, I was waving at you while you were sitting in Daddy's lap and you started moving your hand too. I think you might be getting close to waving a little bit.

You were laying in bed with me today and I thought you were getting ready for your nappy. You were in such a great mood but then I could tell that switch was about to flip. You rolled over on your tummy and your knees went under your belly and your feet dug in and you pushed yourself across the bed. Unfortunately, I think we might be getting closer to you crawling. I know I always want you to get bigger - to hold your own bottle, to be potty trained, to eat people food, to say mommy, etc. But, I am so not ready for you to be crawling or walking. For one, the house is not Elijah proofed. For another, that means you truly are a big boy and I am not ready for my baby boy to be a big boy. Well, a big boy would have chores and could do dishes and laundry...maybe I need to rethink this.... :)

Your daddy told me that you were singing today. You guys were in the car together and he was singing to the radio and then you started making your noises too. I am so bummed I missed it but I guess when we are all in the car, we are normally talking and not singing. He said that it took you awhile to warm up on the way to dinner but when you left Sortinos, you started right away and kept at it all the way to Gramma Ruth's house.

Well buddy, that is about it. We have hot plans this weekend - we are going to dinner with Grampa Larry's sister Cindy tomorrow. You haven't met her yet. She is the original "Funsucker" - mommy models her. Then, hopefully, we will get to see Uncle Ugly on his 60th Birthday. Saturday, we head up to Minnesota to see Baby God Daddy. When we get home, it is off to Gramma and Grampa Naven's 55th Anniversary party. So, busy times and hopefully, you will continue to be a happy baby!!

I will leave you with two scrapbook pages. The 6 month pages have sat on my computer screen all week. They are just so special, I was having a hard time with them. Then, I saw that word art about your smile being like sunshine and I knew I just had to plunge right in and do them. Your smile lights up your face and my heart - it is like sunshine. Sometimes, if I am blue, I will look at your photos and they just make me relax and smile. The bouncey one was quick and easy. Guess I just had to get over the hump of the 6 month photos :)
